1. Introduction
These terms of service (the "terms") govern the use of Protulox – a web application for lighting measurement documentation – operated by Bc. Jan Lorenz. By registering and using the service, you agree to these terms.
2. Definitions
"Service" means the Protulox web application provided as SaaS (Software as a Service). "Operator" means Bc. Jan Lorenz. "User" means the natural or legal person who has an account. "Content" means projects, measurements, protocols and other data created by the user within the service.
3. Service description
Protulox is a technical tool intended to record and organise lighting measurements (illuminance), produce measurement protocols and related documentation. The service is intended primarily for professional use. The service is provided as SaaS. The operator reserves the right to maintain, change features and availability in accordance with applicable law. The operator does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the service and may temporarily restrict it, in particular for maintenance, updates or technical reasons.
4. User account and registration
Users register with email and password. During the trial period, access may be limited. A subscription is required to continue after the trial. The user is responsible for keeping login credentials confidential and for all activity under their account. Personal data processing is described in the Privacy Policy.
4a. Concurrent device limit
A single licence may be used on a maximum of 3 concurrently active devices (sessions). If a login is attempted on an additional device, access may be denied until the user logs out from another device or an existing session expires.
5. Acceptable use
You must use the service in accordance with these terms and applicable law. You must also comply with the Acceptable Use Policy. It is prohibited to misuse the service, circumvent technical restrictions, compromise security or infringe third-party rights. Serious breaches may result in suspension or termination of the account.
6. Pricing and payments (Paddle)
Current subscription prices are shown on the website and in the app at checkout. Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd., London, United Kingdom, acting as Merchant of Record (Paddle; seller for billing and tax purposes). Paddle handles payment collection, invoicing, tax remittance and refunds; Paddle's terms apply to these matters. We recommend reviewing them before subscribing: Paddle Terms. For billing and payment questions, contact info@protulox.com.
6a. Subscription plans
The Service is offered under subscription plans (each a "Plan"); features and limits are described on the website and in the app. For plans that allow multiple users, the account owner is responsible for managing access and for all activity under the account within the limits of the applicable Plan. You must not share login credentials beyond what your Plan permits. The scope, features and limits of Plans may change over time.
6b. Optional paid add-ons (modules)
In addition to the base Plan, the Service may be offered with optional paid add-ons (each a "Module"), including a module for emergency lighting documentation. Available Modules, their feature scope and current prices are listed on the website and in the app at checkout. A Module is billed once per organization (team account), not per individual user; users within the same organization may access Module features while the Module is active. Without active payment for a Module, its features are not part of your subscription. Purchasing, changing or cancelling a Module is done as shown in the app and through Paddle; after payment for a Module ends, the operator may remove access to its features. Changes to Module prices, scope and availability are governed by the section on changes to the service and terms.
7. Licence and intellectual property
The Protulox service and related software are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights of the operator, including software, design, content, algorithms and functionality. You are granted only a non-exclusive licence to use the service within the scope and manner set out in these terms. Reverse engineering, copying, modifying, distributing or creating derivative works from the service without the operator's written consent is prohibited, as are attempts to obtain the source code. Use of the service does not confer any ownership rights in the software. All rights in content created by the user remain with the user; the user grants the operator the licences necessary to provide the service.
7a. Data ownership
You retain ownership of all data you upload to or create within the Service. The operator may use anonymised data to improve the Service.
8. Measurements, calculations and professional use
Protulox is a software and calculation tool intended to support lighting measurement documentation. Protulox may support the transfer of measured values from compatible measuring instruments. This feature does not constitute verification of the correctness of the measurement, instrument calibration, instrument settings, measuring range or measurement conditions. The user is responsible for correctly performing the measurement, for the suitability of the measuring instrument used and for the correctness of the measured values.
Protulox performs automated calculations and data processing based on data, parameters and measured values entered or transferred by the user. Application outputs are a supporting tool for professional work and do not in themselves constitute certification, an expert opinion, a professional statement or confirmation of conformity with a legal regulation or technical standard.
The service may accept measured values, perform calculations, compare results with specified requirements, display a PASS/FAIL or similar automated evaluation and generate a protocol. A PASS/FAIL mark or similar automated evaluation is a comparison of calculated values with requirements set in the application. It does not in itself constitute certification or a binding confirmation of conformity with a legal regulation or technical standard.
Neither Protulox nor its operator is the person performing the measurement or the person professionally approving or signing the resulting protocol. Responsibility for the content, professional assessment, approval, signature and further use of the resulting protocol lies with the user or the organisation that issues the protocol.
The operator uses reasonable efforts to ensure that the application functions correctly and reliably. Results may nevertheless be affected in particular by the correctness of input data, project settings, selected requirements, measured values and the way the application is used. The user must professionally assess the results before using them for professional or official purposes.

- the selection of the relevant normative or legislative requirement,
- the professional interpretation of results,
- verifying that the requirements used are up to date.
9. Limitation of the operator's liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, and except where liability cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, the operator is not liable for indirect damages, loss of profit, loss of data or damages arising from incorrect or unauthorised use of the service. To the same extent, the operator's total liability to the user for damages related to the service shall not exceed the amount of subscription fees paid by the user in the last 12 months before the event giving rise to liability. The user is responsible for backing up their data; the operator is not liable for any data loss to the extent permitted by applicable law.
10. Account termination
You may delete your account at any time (contact info@protulox.com). The operator may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you breach these terms, misuse the Service, if required for security or protection of the Service, or for other legitimate reasons; where possible, you will be notified in advance. Data retention and deletion after account termination are described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to the service and terms
The operator may change the service and these terms. You will be informed of material changes (e.g. by email or in-app notice). Continued use after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the changes, you may terminate your account before the effective date.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
Czech law applies to these terms. For consumers, jurisdiction at their place of residence remains unaffected.
13. Withdrawal (consumers, B2C)
If you are a consumer, you may withdraw from the contract within 14 days without giving a reason. Send your withdrawal to info@protulox.com. Refunds will be made in accordance with Paddle's terms. If you agreed to immediate performance of digital content, the right of withdrawal may be lost after performance has started.
14. Complaints
If the service is not provided in accordance with these terms, you may report defects or shortcomings in writing (email to info@protulox.com), with a description of the defect and account identification. Complaints will be handled within 30 days.
15. Out-of-court dispute resolution
The competent authority for out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes is the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, ČOI), www.coi.cz.
